Why braiding stylizes
It seems like a trick, but it has its logic. The interlacing draws lines across the instep and the eye follows them, visually lengthening the foot instead of cutting it off. Where a flat strap interrupts, the braid flows.
Add to that its lightness. The thin straps that cross over let the skin breathe and bring a delicate, almost barefoot air that feels especially good in summer. The result is a foot that looks stylized, fresh and with a finish that never seems improvised.
