At Yokono, we've spent years watching clogs go from being
that "difficult" footwear that seemed reserved for a select few
fashion experts, to becoming a true wardrobe staple. Today, they are
comfortable, have character, and, above all, solve that eternal "what do I
wear" dilemma on in-between days when you want to look good without
overcomplicating things.

If clogs were once associated only with summer or very
specific styles, the reality is that now they work almost all year round. For
us, this is no surprise. We've always believed in the value of versatile,
comfortable footwear with its own personality. And clogs fit perfectly into
that philosophy.

The key, as with almost everything in footwear, lies in how
they integrate into everyday life. A good pair of clogs can elevate a simple
look or become the go-to option you reach for without thinking when you want to
feel comfortable and confident.

Why they’ve made
such a strong comeback

From our perspective, the return of clogs is no accident. The
way we dress has changed, and there’s an increasing search for balance between
style and real comfort. It’s no longer just about aesthetics, but about finding
pieces that keep up with the rhythm of the day.

Clogs provide height without sacrificing stability, something
many people value when they stop prioritizing the thin heel. Additionally, they
have a natural aesthetic that connects with honest materials, soft leathers,
and designs that don’t rely on fleeting trends.

We’ve always understood clogs as a basic with personality.
Footwear that can transform a simple look without needing to add too many
elements. A pair of jeans and a white T-shirt can be a basic outfit, but when
combined with well-designed clogs, the result changes completely.

That’s why we continue to bet on this category in our clog
collections, where comfortable and natural design is part of our identity.

The unbeatable
combo: clogs and jeans

If there’s one combination that never fails, it’s clogs with denim. We see it
constantly: it works in any season and adapts to many different styles.

Straight or slightly flared jeans balance the volume of the
clog and create a harmonious look. We also like ankle-length or cropped models,
which showcase the footwear and add visual lightness.

In this type of look, the top part tends to stay simple:

Relaxed cut white shirt Basic cotton T-shirt Light
blazer or denim jacket

This balance is key. When the outfit is natural and
comfortable, the clog fits effortlessly. That’s why, when we design, we think
of models that complement the real movement of the day and are easy to
integrate into these types of everyday outfits.

Dresses and clogs:
the contrast we love

One of our favorite combinations is dresses with clogs. The
contrast between a light garment and a shoe with presence creates a very
interesting balance.

Midi dresses work especially well because they allow the clog
to be seen without breaking the harmony of the outfit. Flowing dresses, with a
boho inspiration or natural fabrics, also fit perfectly with soft leather
clogs.

Some combinations that always work:

Floral dress with clogs in neutral tones Plain midi dress with
moderately high platform clogs
Shirt dress with classic clogs

We love these types of looks because they convey naturalness.
They don’t seem forced and allow you to move comfortably for hours, something
that’s always a priority for us.

Fluid Pants:
Balance and Movement

Linen pants or fabrics with a soft drape are great allies for
clogs. They bring movement and soften the structure of the footwear, creating a
relaxed but well-put-together look.

Here, proportions are important. If the pants are wide, the
clog should have enough presence to maintain visual balance. That’s why we work
with volumes and soles that offer stability without feeling heavy.

We like to see them combined with:

Palazzo pants and a fitted top Monochromatic linen sets
Fluid pants with light shirts

This type of styling reflects very well the aesthetic we
seek: natural, comfortable, and in harmony with the daily rhythm.

Freshness with
Style: Shorts and Skirts

When temperatures rise, clogs still make sense. They work
with denim shorts, midi skirts, or light summer sets without losing comfort.

Once again, balance is key. If the clog has presence, we
prefer simple looks that aren't overloaded. If the design is lighter, you can
play with slightly more eye-catching garments.

An outfit that always seems right to us:

Denim shorts White T-shirt or neutral top Leather clogs

It’s comfortable, functional, and easy to wear on weekends or
trips.

How We See Them in
the City

For a long time, clogs were associated with vacation or rural
settings, but today they are naturally part of the urban landscape. We like to
see them in city looks, paired with structured garments and neutral tones.

For a balanced urban style:

Neutral colors like black, leather, or beige Blazers, trench coats, or
poplin shirts
Relaxed tailored pants or straight jeans

A dress pant with a white T-shirt and clogs can be a
perfectly valid look for day-to-day. That mix of comfort and careful aesthetics
is exactly what we aim for when we design.

Mistakes We Always
Avoid

Over the years, we’ve learned that there are certain mistakes
to avoid when integrating clogs into the wardrobe.

Excessive Volume If the entire look is oversized, it
can feel visually heavy. We like to balance: volume in one part, lightness in
another.

Clashing Styles Clogs work best in natural and
relaxed aesthetics. When the look is too technical or artificial, they lose
their coherence.

Not Thinking About Real Use For us, this point is essential. A
clog should accompany the rhythm of the day: walking, working, moving. That’s
why we focus on materials, lasts, and structures that truly work.

Naturalness as the
Starting Point

If there's one thing that defines our approach to clogs, it's
naturalness. We believe in footwear that effortlessly integrates into everyday
life, that brings personality without being overpowering, and that allows for
real comfort while moving.

Clogs have character, yes, but they also have enormous
versatility. When chosen and designed well, they become that go-to option you
reach for when you want to dress in style without sacrificing comfort
throughout the day.

For us, that balance between design and comfort will always
be the true starting point. Because in the end, the best footwear isn’t just
the one that looks good, but the one that naturally accompanies your life’s
rhythm.
